A Moment in Mid-Air Gossip
If hummingbirds could talk, I imagine these three would have plenty to say. The one on the left might be watching and listening, deciding if it’s worth chiming in. The center bird, clearly the boldest, looks like it’s making a point, maybe claiming dominance over the best nectar spot. And the one on the right? Probably unimpressed, quietly plotting its next move.
Hummingbirds may be tiny, but they have big personalities, chasing, challenging, and even bossing each other around. I wanted to capture that moment of interaction, that rare pause before they take off again. Their feathers shimmer differently depending on how they hold themselves, shifting from pink to violet, purple to gold, and green to iridescent flashes of light with just the smallest turn of their heads.
Maybe they’re arguing over territory. Maybe they’re swapping nectar recommendations. Either way, this fleeting pause won’t last long, but for now, it’s Perch Perfect.
