The original piece, Blooming Dale, was created in color pencil on textured paper to honor the glowing spirit of this rare Sicilian hummingbird. Its iridescent throat and warm tones reminded me of Mediterranean sunlight and bursts of trumpet-shaped flowers along sun-washed walls. I created this piece to capture that feeling, a blend of wild beauty, warmth, and hope, and to offer a piece of it to those who might need it most.
